Ailsa Gudgeon is a highly-skilled voice and communication coach with an extremely successful track-record of working with senior and high-potential clients from the corporate world.

Ailsa's expertise is drawn from a broad range of training and practice in professional theatre, theatre training and education. She has also sung professionally. After graduating in Communication Studies, Ailsa taught English and Drama in secondary schools before training as a voice coach at the Central School of Speech and Drama. She has trained acting students in a range of high-profile establishments including LAMDA, Rose Bruford and Central. Professional theatre work has taken her to the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC), Glyndebourne Opera and the West End. For many years, she trained students in voice and communication skills at the University of Westminster, and ran workshops for Conference Interpreters at the European Parliament in Brussels and the Court of Justice in Luxembourg.

Over the last 10 years, Ailsa has drawn on this wealth of experience to work with her many business clients, addressing a diverse range of communication needs. These include: presenting with impact (both content and delivery), voice coaching, speaking style, leading and facilitating meetings, and developing leadership presence, gravitas and charisma. She has developed her own highly effective model - the Message- Driven Approach - for teaching business and leadership communications and this forms a strong base for one-to-one coaching and workshops.

When working with a client, Ailsa identifies their key communication issues in a pre-session telephone call. These issues are then rigorously yet sensitively addressed through practical physical and communication exercises tuned to the individual. These result in immediately observable changes in posture, breath, voice and delivery which enable the client to transform their presence and impact.

Video feedback and personalised exercises are provided to embed the changes. When a client needs to improve the content or structure of their material Ailsa uses her Message-Driven Approach to help them craft their communications in a highly-targeted, audience-focused way. This work alone often brings about a sea-change in confidence and style.

Ailsa has received consistently excellent feedback from senior business clients.

Recent work with a Board member of a large company led him to describe the impact of his three sessions with Ailsa as "wonderful...she has transformed the impact I make at Board meetings and outside."
